IASA School for Advanced Leadership - Application Deadline is June 1, 2010







During the past two years, the IASA has been actively involved in the development of the IASA School for Advanced Leadership (ISAL). The ISAL is now accepting applications from superintendents who want to be part of this outstanding leadership opportunity.  This is an outstanding opportunity for superintendents to fine tune and improve their skills as an educational leader in an environment that is focused on student achievement and is designed specifically for top-level school leaders.
 
Participants of this unique learning opportunity will engage in a two-year cohort experience. The cohort will meet four times per year. Each gathering is scheduled to begin on Friday evening and last for a full day on Saturday. Participants will benefit by:
 
1.         Engaging the services of a certified professional coach
2.         Developing and implementing a personalized Professional Growth Plan for Student Achievement
3.         Conducting a comprehensive needs assessment to determine district and leadership needs
4.         Attaining designation as an IASA Distinguished Superintendent
5.         Completing required Administrators Academies
 
The learning experiences for the twenty-five candidates that are selected to participate in the first ISAL Cohort will be framed around:
 
  • Technical and Adaptive Skills
  • Systems Development and Understanding
  • Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment
  • Governance and Working Effectively with Boards of Education Talent Management and Developing People
