Beware 'microwave' legislation for pension reform this week

Reconnaissance around the state capitol indicates that a pension reform bill is likely to surface this week, and it appears it will look a lot like the pension reform plan Governor Pat Quinn unveiled a couple of weeks ago. And, similar to the bill that wiped out free health insurance for state and university retirees, this legislation may be voted upon in a relative blink of an eye.

IASA to hold Administrators Academy for new iPad teacher observation tool

The Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA) will be unveiling a new one-day Administrators Academy to help those who will be evaluating teachers to utilize a new iPad application for teacher evaluation, according to Rich Voltz, IASA Associate Director for Professional Development.

Call for Nominations

The Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA) is now accepting nominations for the At-Large position on the IASA Board of Directors. The one open seat to be filled by the underrepresented group for the election held in 2012 is “Non-Caucasian”, elected on an at-large basis. The term of office for the open seat is July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2015.
