Dr. Walter H. Warfield & Dr. Jacob S. Broncato AAC Scholarship
The IASA School of Professional Development's vision statement reads:
IASA will gain the ability to provide agile, world class professional development opportunities that meet the complex needs of the Superintendent at the school district, regional and state level.
In an effort to create professional development opportunities, the Illinois Association of School Administrators is pleased to announce the establishment of the Dr. Walter H. Warfield & Dr. Jacob S. Broncato AAC Scholarship. This scholarship, approved by the IASA Board of Directors at the September meeting, is a tribute to their many contributions to professional development for administrators and to thank both of them for having the courage and leadership to help establish the IASA School of Professional Development.
Each year, twenty-one scholarships will be awarded, one to each IASA Region. The scholarship will entitle the recipient to attend one IASA sponsored Administrators' Academy Credit Course at no cost. The Regions will have the authority to award the scholarships as they see fit.
Dr. Walter H. Warfield served as IASA Executive Director from 1992 to 2006 and now holds the title of Executive Director Emeritus. He is also a Scholar in Residence at the University of Illinois at Springfield. Dr. Jacob S. Broncato was hired as the IASA Director of Professional Development in 2002, and continues to help the program grow.
