The Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA) invites you to submit a proposal to present at one of twelve breakout sessions at the 2009 IASA Annual Conference in Springfield, IL on April 1-3, 2009. Annually hundreds of school leaders attend IASA’s Annual Conference for the purpose of increasing their professional growth. Past sessions have addressed topics such as: short-term borrowing solutions for schools; retirement planning for school professionals; after school and violence prevention programs; curriculum alignment; best practices for school improvement; hiring and evaluation of personnel; legal updates and school district reorganization. We look forward to reviewing what you have to offer!
IASA will hold eight breakout sessions on the morning of Thursday, April 2, 2009. Four sessions will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. and four sessions will be held from 11:10 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. In addition, four breakout sessions will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2009. The deadline for submitting proposals is Friday, October 31, 2008. The IASA Program Committee will review the proposals shortly thereafter.
IASA does not pay honorariums, speaker fees, or travel expenses for speakers. Speakers do not need to be IASA members in order to submit a presentation proposal; however, if a proposal is accepted for presentation, speakers MUST register and pay the full conference registration fee (depending on the speaker’s member/non-member status). IASA reserves the right to edit session titles and descriptions for marketing purposes. All breakout sessions have a moderator that will be assigned by IASA. If you have an Illinois Superintendent and/or IASA Active Member you would like to use to moderate your breakout session please provide this information during the submission process for consideration.
Be sure to clearly indicate all of your AV needs for the session that you are submitting a proposal. Your session may be recorded and/or photographed for use on the IASA website.
