Basic Collective Bargaining – Revised 2011 (AAC #1045)
The course will provide administrators with the basic knowledge and skills needed for effective collective bargaining. It will focus on contract language, bargaining preparation, legal framework, interpersonal relations, and the data-driven economic impact of the organization.Outcomes:

Participants will be familiar with the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Act, Educational Labor Board Rules and Regulations, selected Labor Board Rulings, Illinois School Code and Case Law in the Collective Bargaining process.

Participants will understand politics of bargaining in the public sector, the differences between human and labor relations and how bargaining works.

Participants will understand the construction of scatter grams, salary schedules, other economic data, and the benefits of data disaggregation.
