Coaching for Leaders (AAC #1363)
Professional Coaching for School Leaders is designed to be transformational, i.e., it changes the way you are as a leader and a person in the way you relate to others. Part of this occurs during the process of being coached. To be certified, students must be coached a minimum of six times and show coaching competencies during the final assessment. Class sessions foster self-awareness and assessment, and practice coaching using research-based leadership practices that support changes on the part of those who are coached. The course emphasizes the process of coaching and engages leaders in applying the coaching process to real issues. Further, the course introduces effective leadership behaviors and links these to the coaching process. In-class simulations, case studies, personal monthly coaching and practice coaching another professional, enhances the practical application of knowledge, skills and dispositions.
