An Introduction to Effective Coaching for Principal Evaluation (AAC #1445)
This course will offer superintendents a framework for facilitative and instructional coaching to be used with building principals and others within an administrative team to maximize principal evaluation effectiveness and impact. Superintendents will learn essentials of leadership coaching to be used to enhance the principal evaluation process, which ultimately is designed to improve principal effectiveness.
Outcomes:
- Participants will understand the requisite skills for effective coaching, including active listening, questioning, focus, curiosity, presence and a deep understanding of the administrator's (client) needs for professional growth.
- Participants will understand the relationship between the six ISLCC Standards and effective leadership practices.
- Participants will understand the key components in coaching principals to identify issues, overcome barriers, and design effective systems change within their organization for principal professional growth leading to improved student achievement.
