Gathering Evidence During Observations and Conferencing Using the Danielson Model (AAC #1080)
This course will allow participants to learn effective skills and strategies for using Charlotte Danielson’s Frameworks in the summative setting in order to more effectively: 1. identify evidence at the component/element level during formal and informal observations; 2. use evidence to effectively rate staff on levels of performance for each domain; 3. acquire strategies to support effective collaborative conferencing around formal and informal observations; and 4. learn techniques, strategies, and protocols to use when conferencing with staff about professional development. Course participants will apply these new skills and strategies to a case study of professional practice as it relates to their work in the teacher appraisal system.
- School leaders will understand the Danielson Model components, elements and levels of performance in order to acquire greater effectiveness in the summative rating of staff.
- School leaders will be able to view classroom observations in order to collect evidence
- School leaders will know strategies that will enable them to conduct deep reflective and collaborative conferences with staff tied to evidence collected.
- School leaders will know how to use a cast study approach to track individual progress around implementing strategies learning during this academy. Participants will share and reflect with colleagues.
